| Hello I am new to this Forum and I am first time poster. Okay so I just read djared7096 post #86036-please-help-2005-blower-motor and all the replies to it. I also downloaded the suggested repair manual .zip file for my 2005 RAV 4 because I think my blower motor or something in that area of the vehicle has been dying on me for the past few months. My vehicle: I bought my car new in 2005 with 32 miles on it. It has 94,000 miles and I have done NO major repairs to it so far (Yes my console bulb blew out, but I hardly care about that). It is auto, 4 cyl and 2 wheel drive. History: MY "fan" (heat and A/c in the interior) problem started sometime last year when the fan sometimes would not blow high when set on high and would only blow low. Flipping around and playing with the switch (turn it off and on sometimes helped, but it no longer helps now. The A/C is great and it comes out as very cold air, but not always as much as I would like it to. And now it died on me several times and would not work at all.... no low fan on high, no low fan on low nothing and then today it blew only some and now the fan hardly spins at all and only a trickle of cold air comes out. I feel I MUST do something right away and probably should not have waited this long. No doubt about it, something has breathed it's last breath and needs to be replaced and its damn hot in that car at 4:00pm now. I want to do the repairs myself. I KNOW I can do them after looking at the manual, just not sure exactly what TO do. My question is: Do I replace the Blower Motor only or should I also replace the Blower Resistor and Air Inlet Servomotor (those to me look like the mechanical electrical parts involved, but not sure)? Do I replace all three and get it over with or r eplace one part at a time... and if so what do I replace first? I do not want to replace parts if I do not need to. Nevertheless, I have no way of knowing which parts are failing me. But I have to do something. Hope someone can help me. THANK YOU... ~shaney | |||
